October 2023 brought one of the most memorable and personal weddings I’ve ever had the pleasure of photographing—Mikey and Michelle’s wedding at Rancho Las Lomas in Silverado, California. As close friends, I had the unique opportunity to capture not only their wedding day but also their graduation, engagement, proposal, and other key moments in their journey together. Building this relationship over time made the wedding day all the more special, as I knew their story inside and out, and this connection brought an extra level of depth to the photos and videos we created.
A Day Filled with Love, Freedom, and Creativity.
One of the things that made this wedding stand out was the incredible trust Mikey and Michelle placed in me as their photographer and videographer. They gave me complete freedom to capture their day, which allowed us to take our time and create some truly magical moments. The day started at the Marriott Irvine, where we took getting-ready shots. Michelle looked absolutely stunning in her bridal attire, and Mikey, with his Hawaiian and Samoan heritage, brought his unique cultural style to the day.
From there, we moved to the breathtaking Rancho Las Lomas, a venue nestled in the heart of Silverado. The venue's natural beauty, combined with the thoughtful floral arrangements and perfect weather, set the stage for an unforgettable event. Rancho Las Lomas offered countless backdrops for stunning portraits, from its lush gardens to its rustic architecture, and I made sure to take full advantage of the venue’s charm.
Capturing the Special Moments: Photos and Videos
The wedding day was full of emotional and heartfelt moments, and I was able to capture some of my best images ever at this event. Whether it was candid shots of the couple, tender moments with family, or the beautiful scenery, every element came together flawlessly. As a photographer, having the freedom to experiment and take my time made all the difference in crafting a gallery that truly reflects the couple's love and the joy of their special day.
In addition to the photos, we also produced a comprehensive video set for Mikey and Michelle. This included a highlight reel, perfect for sharing with friends and family, as well as a full documentary video. The documentary was especially meaningful, as it featured intimate family interviews that added a personal touch to the storytelling. It’s always a pleasure to be able to create something that’s not just visually stunning but also emotionally resonant for the couple and their loved ones.

A Celebration of Culture: Hawaiian and Samoan Traditions
Mikey’s Hawaiian and Samoan heritage added a special layer of cultural richness to the wedding, which was beautifully woven into the day’s celebrations. One of the highlights was the traditional Samoan dance that took place during the reception. It was a beautiful way for Mikey and his family to honor their roots and share their culture with the guests, and it was one of my favorite moments to capture on film. The joy and energy of the dance, paired with the elegance of the venue and the couple’s radiance, made for some truly spectacular footage.
The Final Touch: Photos and Video Gallery
As with all of our weddings at Bokeh Weddings, we strive to deliver photos and videos that our clients can cherish forever. For Mikey and Michelle, we sent out sneak peeks shortly after the event, and the full gallery and video set, including the highlight and documentary, are now available. The images and videos from this day are a true reflection of the love and joy that surrounded the couple, and I couldn’t be more proud of how everything turned out.

Looking back, Mikey and Michelle’s wedding was everything you could hope for as a photographer. The stunning venue, the perfect weather, the beautiful florals, and, most importantly, the incredible couple and their families, all contributed to making this one of the most successful and rewarding weddings I’ve ever been a part of. Being able to share in their journey from graduation to engagement to their wedding day was a true honor, and I’m so excited for them as they step into this next chapter of their lives.
